As an esthetician, I know what’s up when it comes to skin care.
It’s a big passion of mine.
I love to talk about skin care and how to l
ook and feel younger.
I’ve seen the way high-quality products and proper skin care can truly transform aging skin, and I love how it helps to boost self esteem and confidence.
My skin and my self-esteem included.
I think it’s important to talk about beauty, aging, and everything in between.
No taboos.
So to further the cause, I’ve gathered some of my all time favorite quotes about this whole aging thing.
“You don’t stop laughing when you grow old, you grow old when you stop laughing.”
— George Bernard Shaw
Sometimes we worry so much about laugh lines that might turn into fine lines and wrinkles, that we forget to actually enjoy the moment and simply laugh. The truth is, no matter what age you’re at, there’s always a solution to those wrinkles you see coming in.
Laughter is the best medicine, and it will keep you younger than worrying about laugh lines will.
“It is not a question of how old you are, but a question of how you are old.”
— Jules Renard
We are all aging, and our skin is aging right along with us. But age is so much more than just a number (or even the number of wrinkles on our faces).
Age is about how you feel. When I hit my 40s, my confidence took a turn for the worse. I looked and felt decades older. Now that I’ve taken my health and my skin care firmly into my own hands, I’m close to 50 now and feel better than I did in my 20s.
It’s all about attitude and what you make of the aging process. Don’t let age define you.
“And the beauty of a woman, with passing years, only grows”
— Audrey Hepburn
True words from one of recent history’s most iconic figures. If there’s one person who understood beauty, it was Audrey Hepburn. And her words really do have so much truth!
With age comes wisdom and knowledge and life experiences that grow and shape us in beautiful ways. We might not look like we did in our teen years, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t beautiful.
“We live in a youth-obsessed culture that is constantly trying to tell us that if we are not young, and we’re not glowing, and we’re not hot, that we don’t matter. I refuse to let a system or a culture or a distorted view of reality tell me that I don’t matter. I know that only by owning who and what you are can you start to step into the fullness of life. Every year should be teaching us all something valuable. Whether you get the lesson is really up to you.”
— Oprah
It can be tough aging and living in a culture that is so obsessed with youth and being young.
But Oprah said it right – personal growth and finding purpose in life is so much more important than looking young forever.
Becoming a better person and learning through life’s lessons as we grow older is so much more valuable than perpetual youth. It’s okay to embrace age – it’s how we learn and it’s how we grow.
“I’m baffled that anyone might not think women get more beautiful as they get older. Confidence comes with age, and looking beautiful comes from the confidence someone has in themselves.”
— Kate Winslet
I love this quote. There’s nothing more beautiful – or more powerful – than a woman who exudes true confidence in herself.
Having confidence is essential to every area of life and it’s critical for personal growth. Once we find our confidence we’re truly able to shine wherever we are, regardless of our age.
Remember – proper skin care is important, but being confident in yourself and loving the skin you’re in is even more so. Never forget that. You’re beautiful just the way you are!
