If you’re like me, you want to turn back the clock on aging. Maybe you don’t actually want to be 30 again, but you sure wouldn’t mind looking as if you were. I’ve got one word for you: collagen.
Collagen is the protein which gives us the appearance of firm, supple, youthful skin. Unfortunately, as we age, our bodies produce less collagen every year. Like an overstretched rubber band, less collagen means that our skin begins to look loose. Saggy even.
However, there are things you can do to boost collagen naturally. Better yet, these “tricks” are very easy to add to your daily routine:
1. Drink Plenty of Water.
While you’ve probably heard that water is great for the skin, you may have wondered why that is. Simply put, water hydrates skin. When skin is hydrated, you’re creating an environment where collagen can thrive. To make sure you drink enough water every day, consider setting an hourly timer to remind you to get your 8 ounces in. Aim for a minimum of 64 ounces a day—within a couple of weeks, you should notice a visible difference in your skin’s appearance.
2. Get Your ZZZ’s.
When we’re sleeping, our bodies repair the damage that we’ve done to it throughout the day. Cut back on your sleep, and you’re giving your body less time to produce collagen. Rather than do that, try to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night. Not only will you feel more refreshed, but if you’re a night owl by nature, you’ll also appreciate how much better your skin looks once you start getting enough sleep!
3. Don’t Forget Your C’s.
While your ZZZ’s are important, so are your C’s. Vitamin C, that is. Vitamin C promotes collagen formation, leaving skin tighter and firmer. So, what foods are high in vitamin C? Of course, you already know that oranges are a great source of vitamin C. However, there are plenty of foods that have even more vitamin C than an orange. I recommend that you add some of the following to your grocery list: bell peppers (red or green), kale, broccoli, cauliflower, strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, papaya, and brussel sprouts. Don’t make that face—brussel sprouts are tasty!
4. Listen to Music.
This tip may sound off the wall but hear me out. When we’re under stress, we produce the hormone cortisol. As one biochemist put it, “cortisol is the enemy of collagen.” That’s because cortisol triggers inflammation which actually breaks down collagen. However, many studies have shown that instrumental music reduces cortisol. Bottom line? Next time you start feeling tense, reach for your headphones. A Chopin concerto will protect your collagen while making you feel more Zen in the process.
5. Exfoliate.
The older you are, the more important exfoliation becomes. That’s because skin cells turn over less frequently as we age. For instance, during the teen years, your body produces new skin cells every 21-28 days. However, once you reach your 50s, that number slows dramatically to between 45-84 days. By regularly exfoliating, you’re removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. This “shocks” the skin to produce new cells which stimulates collagen production. I recommend that you gently exfoliate a couple of times a week. There are a number of exfoliators to choose from on the market, or you can easily create your own by adding sugar to your favorite skin cleanser.
When Natural Isn’t Enough (Important)
So far, I’ve given you the run-down on some easy ways you can boost collagen production. But what if you really want to make a difference? What if you want to boost collagen levels dramatically?
Fortunately, you can. Sederma, a world leader in skin care ingredients, has developed a powerful peptide called Matrixyl which actually increases collagen production. And we’re not talking by just a minuscule amount either.
In a peer-reviewed scientific study, Matrixyl was shown to DOUBLE skin’s collagen levels, leading MSN to call it an “ultimate anti-aging ingredient that really gets results.”
Furthermore, NIH-backed research showed that in just a few months, Matrixyl decreased wrinkle depth by 27%, skin roughness by 13%, and wrinkle volume by 36%. Of course news like this gets scientists excited (and me, as well!).
In fact, a panel of industry experts selected Matrixyl as the 2015 winner of the 25 Years of Innovation Award—meaning that this is a super big deal (I’m talking breakthrough!) in the cosmetic field.
As one beauty editor put it, “Stand by for the Matrixyl face cream frenzy.”
Of course, you’re probably wondering where you can get your hands on this youth elixir. Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place. Our Complete Under Eye Repair gel contains Matrixyl—and 2 other powerful peptides, Haloxyl and Eyeliss—to give you smooth, plump, youthful skin where the telltale signs of aging are most noticeable…the area around your eyes.
If you’re already using our best-selling Flawless serum, you can pair it with Complete Under Eye Repair for maximum results. Simply apply Flawless in the morning and Complete Under Eye Repair in the evening to look your most beautiful.

The Conclusion on Collagen…
Collagen may just be the single most important factor when it comes to looking younger. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to keep your collagen levels high. And as you can see, these activities couldn’t be simpler.
However, if the idea of drinking yet another glass of water or upping your veggie intake has you cringing, try Complete Under Eye Repair. With this revolutionary gel, you can boost collagen without consuming kale. What a concept!
What about the rest of our face and skin? Any good news there? Brenda
Do you use the under eye system instead of my other eye creams?
I have lots of dark spots or pimple scars on my face,do you develop or have a solution for it?
Hi Fe, we’re currently working on a solution to dark spots and hope to have it available in 2017.
What can you recommend for sagging and wrinkling neck and decollete? Will these products work in those areas as well? ~~~Annika
Hi Annika, we’re releasing a neck firming cream in early 2017. We’re just running a few final user tests. I can let you know when it’s completed if you’d like. Just let me know.
I ordered the eye product and hope it will also work on the wrinkles around my mouth. Let me know when you get the neck/décolleté tightening cream.
